Every student deserves the right to a safe learning environment regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religion, economic status, disability, and any other diverse backgrounds. Without this, no true learning can take place.

Fostering collaboration and communication amongst our students is contingent upon the presence of an inclusive classroom environment that is centered on an empathetic relationship amongst peers. This environment also gives students the opportunity to share, learn from, and challenge the ideas and opinions of their peers in a respectful and constructive way. 

Our mission is to provide students with skills that go beyond reading comprehension because we believe that learning literature should be interactive. 

Our unique blend of both student-led and instructor-led classroom ensures that our students do not just understand the literature that they read, but engage with it, challenge it, transform it, discuss it, and share it with each other. 

We believe that passion can be learned and cultivated. Giving our students the ability to lead their own discussion groups with the instructor acting as a facilitator allows students to engage with the novel and material in ways that are interesting to the student. Prescribing meaning to a book for students takes out the fun.
